With all the carbon fiber options out there one will quickly learn that they do not all feature the same level of quality. Poor carbon fiber looks tatty and has a short servicable life-span. Carbon Fiber is expensive so you really don't want to plunk down your hard-earned Benjamin's for some farkle for your two-wheeled loved one, only to have it arrive and be sub-standard. In the most exciting moto news this summer, Buell has announced a new model that has a completely new motor that sounds too good to be true! Not only liquid cooled but its a radical (For HD/Buell) 72-degree v-twin that pushes out 145 horsepower and a staggering 82 ft.lbs of torque. The motor also uses a hybrid chain/gear driven cam system to turn four-valves per cylinder to the far side of 10,000 rpm. We've been saying for years that we really want to like Buell and this new Helicon motor may make it a reality!

Rumors are already hitting the streets about a new Ducati Monster. Unchanged since 1992, the current Ducati Monster has been described as one of the quintessential motorcycle designs as timeless as the Triumph Bonneville and Vincent Black Shadow. While this photo looks like a poorly chopped Hypermotard/Monster cross, Ducati is claiming that the styling will be instantly recognizable as a Monster, but with a more modern appearance. Its going to be hard for Ducati to revise its best selling and arguably most popular bike, so we are excited to see how it turns out and hope that Terblanche can bring some of the Hypermotard magic to the new Monster.
