How to Adjust A Motorcycle Chain

IIf you properly align and maintain your chain, you can get as much as 30,000 miles out of chain before it reaches the end of its service life. Plus, if you are fastidious enough many riders will run two chains to one set of sprockets, significantly decreasing the operational costs of your driveline. The key lies with keeping your chain clean and lubing it every 500 miles or less. Keeping the tension set correctly and ensruing your wheel is in alignment are also very important. If the chain is too loose you get a lot of driveline lash, snapping the chain from tight to loose again, speeding up wear exponentially. If your alignment is incorrect the chain and sprockets will wear extremely fast because the chain is essentially forced to curve between the two sprockets.

In this video we walk you through adjusting and aligning a motorycle chain, step-by-step.
